Dork Diaries tells the story about middle-schooler Nikki Maxwell, who is struggling to survive life at her new school. In addition, she has to deal with MacKenzie Hollister, who is the most popular girl at WCD, and will stop at nothing to convince everyone Nikki is a self-proclaimed dork who attends the rich and snobby school only because of a deep dark secret which could ever break or make her but with her secret nemesis finding out it's hard not to be the laughing stock of WCD who's dad is a BUG EXTERMINATOR.

This book is the very first book in the series and it shows the challenges that nikki is put through to survive her first year at this very preppy school from finding her first true love to embracing her dorkiness but nothing can never work out perfect for our dorky protangoinst especially when she starts to realise not everyone likes or is fully supportive of dorks will Nikki be able to win and stay on her two feet or will she have to plummet into a deep dark hole of embrassment which is her fate once her secret gets out.
